Unique flavors and a delightful experience! I got a small cup of "Breakfast Brownies" and what a treat! I really like the crunch from the caramel corn flakes with chocolate brownie in a vanilla base ice cream. The shop had friendly staff, and I was able to sample a few flavors. A small scoop in a cup was around $6. It was tough to choose a flavor because everything was delicious. The shop was clean and inviting. It was pretty easy to find street parking. I'll definitely be coming back to try their Lychee Rose!

Every since I saw the unique flavors that Miharu had to offer, I knew I had to get a taste of their ice cream before summer ended. And we made it happen mid September, on a warm day - perfect ice cream weather. We happened to be in the area doing some shopping and opted for a snack break before heading out of Oakland. Miharu is located right at the corner of Williams and Telegraph. Their store is spacious with a good amount of seats for customers to enjoy their goodies. I love that they display all their current flavors on the wall. They got quite an impressive display of ice cream - more than what I usually see in a small local ice cream shop. What drew me to Miharu was their unique vegan flavors. Normally, I see ice cream shops offer one or two vegan flavors. Miharu offers not two, but SIX vegan flavors! I'm so impressed. I samples three flavors before picking - the vegan Chocolate, Shrikhand, and Lemon w/ Berry Lavender. I ended up getting a split scoop with the Chocolate and Lemon w/ Berry Lavender flavor. My partner opted for the Shrikhand and Kinako Hazelnut, both of which I was either considering or wanted to sample as well. The Lemon w/ Berry Lavender flavor was an absolute delight! It's super light, and the lemon-y flavor comes through quite a bit, but it's not super tart. Nicely balanced with the berry and lavender sauce. I have to give Miharu Ice Cream props for doing this flavor so well. Usually the vegan flavors are fruit sorbets, or dark chocolate, but I'm glad Miharu made a more unique creation. The dark chocolate on the other hand was very rich, a little dense, and almost sticky in texture. A total contrast to the lighter Lemon w/ Berry Lavender flavor. If I had to pick between the two, I would say I enjoyed my Lemon w/ Berry Lavender more. Maybe it's because I'm more use to the texture of sorbet now, but I think I like my lighter, fluffier texture more. My partner really enjoyed his ice cream as well. I can't wait to come back to try out more vegan flavors!

Wow. Super incredible ice cream. Creamy, dreamy, delicious flavors. Not too sweet, not too wild. I have never been blown away by the big names in the SF area, namely Humphrey Slocombe and Bi-Rite. Or Salt and Straw. They're too weird. Like I don't drink whiskey for breakfast, and I don't want it in my ice cream. I also don't want my ice cream to taste like vinegar, leaves, or flowers. in a way that feels like my tastebuds are getting their ass kicked. I think Miharu toes the line exceptionally - giving some adventurous flavors, but with refined restraint. I tried several ice creams and came back with six flavors to share with coworkers. Lychee rose and kinako hazelnut were probably my favorites, followed by the tea. I wasn't blown away by breakfast brownie. But the two vegan flavors, chocolate and the one that was coconut, cardamom and pistachio, were also really good. I didn't love the Indian inspired vegan one on its own (had a sour twang that I couldn't really get behind), but actually paired with the chocolate, it was a stellar combination. I'm so glad I decided at 8:30 PM to go get ice cream, THEN hit the hotel gym, since Miharu closed at 9. After trying 6 flavors, I know which ones I'm super interested in trying tomorrow. Honestly, I can't get over this place. It really provides a very well-rounded and thoughtfully crafted selection and I haven't been to a "gourmet/crazy flavor ice cream shop" where I liked more than one flavor and really felt like I had to go back. I have one more night in town and I plan to go tomorrow and will be back in two weeks for work. You bet this will be part of my food purchases!
